The therapy room is a place where we explore our clients’ inner worlds, and their internal and external relationships. This exploration inevitably touches on the moral values and beliefs that govern their lives.
As we share the therapy space with them, our own values and beliefs are forced into the joint space in countless ways. Value-based conflicts can arise between us and our clients, challenge our professional ethical code of conduct, and altogether be extremely challenging for the therapeutic relationship and the safety of the space we share with our clients.

In this program, we will explore the unseen field of values and beliefs in our systems, and gain a fuller understanding of the potential impact of our moral values and beliefs on our presence as therapists. We will also explore the IFS perspective on the this topic, and formulate some practical applications for real life situations in the therapy room.
This learning program was held live in Winter 2024. You can now access a recorded version of the program and learn at any time, at your own pace. During each module, you’ll first watch a teaching video with Einat Bronstein which includes experiential exercises. Then you’ll learn from IFS Founder Dick Schwartz, either by reviewing video demos of his work with clients or by watching as he provides case consultations. Finally, at the end of each module, you’ll watch a recording of Einat’s live event in which she answered learners’ questions.
An IFSI Certificate of Completion will be available upon completion of this program. Your completion status will be tracked automatically as you progress through the program modules. Once you have completed all program modules, and watched all videos in their entirety, you will receive a Certificate that acknowledges you have received 14 IFS Credits for completing this program. Professional continuing education credits are not currently available for this learning program.

Meet Your Instructors
Einat Bronstein
Einat Avni Bronstein earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work at Washington University. Einat is an experienced psychotherapist with over 30 years of clinical experience with individuals, couples, families, and groups. She has lived and worked with IFS since the early days of the model, and learned closely and directly from the IFS founder Dr. Richard Schwartz. Einat is a certified IFS therapist, a certified supervisor, and a Senior International Lead Trainer for IFSI. Einat is also the co-founder and co-director of The Israeli Institute for IFS. She taught family and couples therapy in Tel Aviv University, presented multiple times at the IFS Annual Conference and led IFS trainings, seminars, and workshops all over the world. Einat is married, has 4 children, one grandchild and lives in Israel.
Richard C. Schwartz
Richard C. Schwartz, PhD, is the creator of Internal Family Systems, a highly effective, therapeutic model with a growing evidence base, that de-pathologizes the multi-part personality. Richard is also the Founder of the IFS Institute that primarily offers training for professionals. He is currently a Teaching Associate in Psychiatry, at Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate. Richard has authored or co-authored more than ten books on Internal Family Systems and related topics, including No Bad Parts and Internal Family Systems Therapy. He lives near Chicago with his wife Jeanne, Vice President of the IFS Institute, close to his three daughters and six grandchildren.
