Objectives – After Attending This Program You Should Be Able To
- Articulate the core principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy as they apply to understanding and addressing addictive processes from a trauma-informed perspective.
- Identify and differentiating various “parts” (e.g., managers, firefighters, exiles) involved in the trauma-addiction cycle and learn strategies for compassionate engagement with these parts in clinical practice.
- Demonstrate practical skills for integrating IFS interventions, including systemic mapping and compassionate witnessing, to facilitate healing of trauma and reduction of addictive behaviors in clients.
